Mochuan, the golden river Destination: Mochuan, Guilin Transportation: Mochuan is located in Xing'an County, north of Guilin, known as the hometown of northern Guilin, at the border of Hunan and Guangxi. The three ginkgo viewing spots are Qin Family Courtyard, Bangshang Village, and Zhangjiaqi Village. The nearest Qin Family Courtyard is about a 40-minute drive from Xing'an County, and Bangshang Village and Zhangjiaqi Village take about 1.5 hours. Mochuan is a scattered ginkgo viewing spot. Itinerary: November 25–26, just in time for the ginkgo to turn golden, with some already starting to fall, expected to fall within a week. November 25: Foshan–Guilin West–Qin Family Courtyard–Xing'an County (stay) November 26: Xing'an County–Bangshang Village–Zhangjiaqi–Guilin West–Foshan Angle: The three ginkgo viewing spots are all village houses + ginkgo, but each has its own characteristics. Personally, I like Qin Family Courtyard the best, followed by Bangshang Village, and Zhangjiaqi the least. Qin Family Courtyard: The ginkgo trees are growing very well, and the leaves are full of moisture, so they are dazzling in the sunlight. There is a 600-year-old ginkgo tree in the village, but the leaves have fallen quite a bit. The main viewing area is on the main road of the village. It is recommended to walk into the village, where there are fewer people and some ginkgo trees with good growth, creating a great atmosphere for photography. Villagers sell agricultural products on both sides, but the commercial atmosphere is not strong. Bangshang Village: According to the introduction, this village was formed by the guards of the Jingwang Mansion of the Ming Dynasty stationed here. There are many ancient buildings in the village, which is very suitable for those who like to take photos of old buildings + ginkgo. The ginkgo viewing area is above the village on the hillside, with the most concentrated area in the ginkgo forest in the corner of the thousand-year-old camphor tree. The trees are very tall, the leaves are very golden, and the overall picture is very autumnal. There are also many ginkgo trees on both sides of the mountain trail, but the leaves are a bit cool in color. It is said that you can climb to the pavilion halfway up the mountain to overlook the whole village, but the trail is not easy to walk, so I didn't go further. The commercial atmosphere of the ancient village is okay, and the local Wenk grapes are quite sweet. Zhangjiaqi: 20 minutes' drive from Bangshang Village, with many farmers selling agricultural products on both sides of the main road, and tourists camping in the ginkgo forest at the entrance. The ginkgo trees here don't seem to be very old, not tall and straight enough, and the color is also lacking. The village is not very distinctive, so just take a casual stroll.
