Xiamen's Shapowei is a great place for taking photos!

Here's a guide to taking photos at Shapowei in Xiamen: Preparation • Getting there: Take bus 71, 86, B5, or J101 to Shapowei Station; or take Metro Line 1 to Zhenhai Road Station, then walk for about 20 minutes. • When to go: We recommend going at around 10:30 am or between 3 and 5 pm, when the light is good and there are fewer people. Recommended photo spots • Art West District: Head up to the third-floor rooftop and take photos with the Shapowei rainbow wall in the background. You can also take panoramic photos of Shapowei and photos with the Twin Towers in the background. In front of the Pubaaba store, you can take photos with a perspective like a Hayao Miyazaki manga. • Bifengwu Boardwalk: Stroll along the Bifengwu Boardwalk and take photos of the old boat houses with the original fishing port style of Xiamen. The calm water makes a great reflection, adding to the beauty of the photos. • Daxue Road: There are many colorful shops and creative graffiti walls here. The "Three Little Ones" in front of Xiamen Chachas, the graffiti wall and sculptures in front of ART MIND are all great photo spots. • Minzu Road: Take photos in front of the green standalone building ENSEMBLE 191, and you'll feel like you're on a street in Korea. Xiaoyudao Bookstore is the most beautiful corner of Shapowei and was a filming location for the TV series "Hidden Love." • Other locations: The cute facade of Corner Cooperative with the Twin Towers in the background makes for great photos. SAKE NOMI BAR is at a T-junction, and the zebra crossing makes for great photos. Xiamen Chaozong Palace with the Twin Towers in the background shows the fusion of history and modernity in Xiamen. Photography tips • Composition: Use the rule of thirds to place the subject at one of the four intersections, making the photo more balanced and beautiful. When taking photos of streets, you can use leading lines, such as roads and railings, to guide the viewer's eyes. • Poses: You can stand in front of the rainbow wall or graffiti wall and stretch your body naturally or make funny poses. Sit on a bench by the street, rest your chin on your hand, or hold a coffee to show a relaxed state. • Lighting: After 3 or 4 pm, the light becomes softer, and you can take side backlit or backlit photos of people to create a warm atmosphere.
