Before coming to Xi'an, I was eagerly anticipating the awe of the Terracotta Warriors, but I never expected the homestay I stayed at to become the most surprising treasure of this trip. I chose it for its proximity to the Terracotta Warriors of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, thinking it would make travel convenient. Upon arrival, I realized I'd struck gold—just steps away from the Terracotta Warriors scenic area, a morning stroll would get me there. Even more breathtaking was opening the window or stepping onto the terrace, where the silhouette of the Qin Mausoleum and the verdant peaks of Mount Li filled my view. During the day, the homestay's courtyard is a stage for light and shadow. Stone paths lined with white pebbles, greenery peeking from corners, and sunlight casting a gentle glow over everything. The rooms are spotless, with bedding that smells of fresh sunshine. Large windows frame the scenery of the Qin Mausoleum and Mount Li like a painting. Sitting by the bed, watching clouds drift over Mount Li, I lost track of time. By evening, the terrace transforms into a "magical space." Set up a table and chairs, brew some tea, and watch the sunset drape the Qin Mausoleum in gold. The green of Mount Li deepens into ink, while clouds and occasional birds cut dynamic shapes across the sky.
