Reality of visiting The Terracotta Warriors 🪦

Went there during Labour Day weekend and it was insanely crowded. Finding a good spot to take picture was challenging with sweaty strangers rubbing you constantly. The distance from downtown Xi'an to the Terracotta Warrior Museum is about 45 kilometers. Normally, it takes about 50 minutes to drive there. 📌 Tips: It is a good idea to book private guide or join group tour before you go. With tour guide is so much better especially for this trip. Joining one day small group cost me 70$. It included hotel pick up at 8am, transportation, attraction tickets,lunch and drop off at my hotel 4:30pm. 📌 My tour guide said that usually the best time to visit the mausoleum is around 2pm-5pm. It closes at 5pm. At that time most of the tour groups done visiting the site. So you can enjoy look at the warriors and go back in time imagine yourself being there. 📌 Another tip is having binocular or telescope would give you a better chance to experience all the details such as their faces and hairstyles etc. 📌 Xi’an is very hot and dry so you must have an umbrella or a hat. Otherwise you will get tanned or get pigmentation easily while lining up for entrance. The Terracotta Army is very popular destination not just for foreign tourists but also for local tourists as well. The place is always crowded. So it is wise to avoid their national holidays.
