|. The history of Huaqing Pool dates back to primitive society 6,000 years ago, when early inhabitants utilized the Lishan hot springs. During the late Western Zhou Dynasty, King You of Zhou built the "Li Palace" here, marking the beginning of Huaqing Pool's illustrious history as a royal garden. In the early years of the Qin Dynasty, Emperor Qin Shi Huang further developed the site, constructing stone structures and naming it "Lishan Tang." During the reign of Emperor Wu of Han, it was expanded into a detached palace. Emperor Wu of Northern Zhou ordered the Grand Chancellor Yuwen Hu to build the "Huang Tang Pool." Huaqing Pool reached its peak during the Tang Dynasty. During the Zhenguan period of Emperor Taizong of Tang, the "Tangquan Palace" was built. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, it was renamed "Huaqing Palace" and underwent extensive expansion, transforming it into a grand and magnificent royal garden.
