Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area - Climbing Tianyou Peak and Bamboo Rafting

In the morning, I arrived at the south entrance of Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area to purchase tickets. I bought a 3-day pass that included access to sightseeing buses and bamboo rafting. Since I couldn't catch the morning bamboo rafting session, I decided to climb Tianyou Peak first. Although the peak is only 408 meters high, the latter part of the climb involves over 800 steep steps, which can be quite tiring. However, the views of the Danxia landform peaks and the scenery along the Nine-Bend Stream are truly stunning. On the way down from Tianyou Peak, there are several forks leading to different mountain routes. However, I didn't linger too long as I had to catch my reserved afternoon bamboo rafting session. After taking the sightseeing bus to the Nine-Bend Stream bamboo raft dock, I checked in. Individual visitors need to wait until there are 8 people to form a group before setting off. Once on the bamboo raft, if you want to listen to the boatman's guided commentary, you need to pay an additional ¥20 per person (the entire trip lasts about 90 minutes). Fortunately, everyone on our raft agreed without much hesitation, and the boatman's explanations were quite entertaining. The clear stream water and the beautiful scenery on both sides made the ride very enjoyable. The disembarkation point is at Ancient Song Street, which is essentially a regular snack street. However, the Wuyi Mountain Museum at the street entrance has some interesting ancient artifacts, especially its research on hanging coffins, which is quite worth a visit. Nearby, the Zhi Zhi An Taoist Temple offers a tranquil environment and a close view of King Peak.
