Fairmont Wuhan Experience Sharing The experience at Fairmont Wuhan was exceptional. The last hotel that made me reluctant to leave was the St. Regis in Changsha. In terms of ambiance, the public areas of Fairmont truly meet luxury standards. The black-and-white Chanel-style lobby, the Tiffany sapphire-like swimming pool, the dazzling yet dimly lit 1907 Western Restaurant at the bar center, and the vibrant lobby lounge—all are perfect for photography, with excellent results. For the room type, I stayed in the Fairmont Gold Corner Room. Although spacious, much of the area was allocated to the foyer and hallway, making the layout of the vanity mirror and closet slightly inconvenient. However, the hardware facilities were outstanding: the TV supports one-touch screen mirroring, providing a great binge-watching experience (hard to believe some new hotels in 2025 still don’t support this), and it’s connected to a KEF sound system below. The bedside features Bose speakers, a delightful surprise for music lovers. Electric curtains, a plush bed, a cozy sofa, a coffee machine, a teapot, and a bathtub are all available. The only minor drawback was the non-smart toilet, but considering the hotel has been open for nearly a decade, it’s understandable. The service was generally thoughtful. The welcome gift was generous, and the complimentary cake tasted amazing. Non-suite rooms don’t typically come with Le Labo amenities, but after a call to the butler, a set was promptly delivered. The turndown service included room cleaning, replenishing drinking water, and placing a sleep-enhancing essential oil spray on the pillow, adding to the comfort. The Fairmont Gold Lounge exudes elegance, with afternoon tea served in exquisite presentations and tasty flavors. The happy hour offerings were far more abundant than a typical cafeteria, featuring fruits like mango, strawberry, and blueberry, as well as dishes like burgers and pork chops. The lounge was quiet, usually with only one or two tables occupied, and the staff provided attentive service. Other details were also well-considered: the gym offers Elixir water, the room includes T9 tea bags, and the butler calls ahead to discuss preferences. The Eggs Benedict at breakfast was delicious. Location and views are relatively less standout features, with few nearby attractions, and the clientele is mostly business travelers.
