As the capital of Hubei Province, the cost of living in Wuhan is quite affordable. The price for hotel rooms with first-line river views is not expensive. During my stay at Wuhan Shimao Hilton, the base room was priced at 500+ RMB, with the Honors second quarter double points promotion + Diamond status bonus + welcome bonus of 1000 points + flash promotion of an additional 5000 points, which effectively gave me a rebate of over two hundred RMB. Additionally, I was upgraded to an executive river view room, and in the end, I spent just over two hundred RMB to experience a first-line river view room. There is an exclusive member's counter for check-in on the first floor, and Diamond members can also check in at the lounge. The overall check-in experience was quite good. I happened to see a cute card sleeve on the table and asked the front desk lady about it. She not only gave me a Dragon Year card sleeve but also found a Rabbit Year one, which was a delight for a collector like me. The room ending in 06 had a corner window that surprisingly offered a view similar to that of a corner room, allowing me to see both the straight river view and the Parrot Island Yangtze River Bridge. The breakfast restaurant also offered a closer view of the Yangtze River Bridge, and the scenery was indeed very nice. The member benefits also included access to the executive lounge and complimentary breakfast, among other things. The lounge is located on the top floor with a broad view. The afternoon tea is quite simple, but the evening Happy Hour is relatively rich, and the quality of the offerings is also quite good. Breakfast is served until 11:30 am, which is highly praised, especially for those who like to sleep in. There are also some local snacks, which my local friends said were quite authentic. Overall, this hotel is excellently located, perhaps a bit dated, but well-maintained overall, and the service is quite OK. Coupled with the generally affordable prices throughout the year, it is highly recommended for tourists. Just across the road downstairs is the Hanyang River Beach, and next to it is the Parrot Island Yangtze River Bridge.
