A weekend spent with friends in nature

Cape Town is beautiful, and it would not be what it is without the world famous Table Mountain, but people often forget that Table Mountain isn’t the only mountain we have to offer here in the Western Cape, infact, we have an entire mountain range just a few hours away, the Cedarberg Mountains. A short while back I had the pleasure of going on a weekend camping trip to the Cedarberg with some friends. We stayed at Krommrivier farm and had a wonderful time. The stars at night were so bright and the nature around us was breathtaking. There is an abundance of hiking #camping #camping #cedarberg #nature #hiking #hikingtrails trails to choose from in the area, we did a beautiful hike to a secluded pool in the mountains. The water was cold as ice but it felt good after the 2 hour hike. There was also a great opportunity to do some rock jumping for the adrenaline junkies amongst us. On our return to Krommrivier we went to the on sight restaurant to wind down. The hand cut fries were delicious and my chocolate milkshake was exactly what I needed after that long hike. We sat outside the restaurant, enjoying the scenery, reading our books and taking time to relax. At the end of the weekend (though it was short), I felt rejuvenated and was left with some memories I would cherish forever. Making smores over the open fire, being brave enough to jump from a height that terrified me, and sharing meaningful moments with my friends, there’s just something that you find out there, out there in nature when it’s just you and your thoughts, perhaps a friend or two. I‘ll cherish those moments forever.
