A Fairyland on Earth: Lake Wakatipu

🌈🎐🏞⛳️ Lake Wakatipu, the core attraction of Queenstown on New Zealand's South Island, is known as the most beautiful glacial lake in the world. The entire town of Queenstown was built around the lake, which stretches 80 kilometers in a lightning bolt shape with an average depth of 230 meters, making it the third largest lake in New Zealand. The lake is surrounded by the Southern Alps, and its water level rises and falls by 10 centimeters every 25 minutes in a phenomenon called the "lake seiche," caused by the lake's winding shape creating self-interfering water flows.
