Venetian Lagoons

I took a day trip to Venice via train from Florence, and since I had very limited time to see the sites, I took a hop-on-hop-off boat tour. The tour has two lines with various stops, and I enjoyed the scenic views from the water and appreciated the audio guide explaining the history of the lagoons and the major landmarks around Venice. I did step off at points to get a better look at Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square and see the little gandolas going down the canals. It may have been worthwhile to stay a night and see the city lit up and the night-scene, but I think 1-2 days in Venice is sufficient to see the main attractions. #solotravel #italy #venice
