Wat Uposatharam (Wat Bot)

Wat Bot is located in Sakae Krang Subdistrict, Mueang Uthai Thani District, Uthai Thani. It is a public temple under the Maha Nikaya sect. The ordination hall features early Rattanakosin period murals depicting the life of the Buddha. Inside the vihara, there are paintings of the Buddha preaching to the deities in heaven and scenes of his final days. The walls are adorned with images of monks and their disciples, interspersed with ceremonial fans, as if paying homage to the principal Buddha image in the vihara. The abbot's residence is an octagonal two-story building with an external spiral staircase. The window arches are in a colonial style, and the exterior walls are decorated with stucco reliefs of the Buddha in the posture of giving blessings, surrounded by swans and storks. Inside the vihara, the principal Buddha image is in the posture of preventing relatives from fighting, with a five-tiered umbrella above its head, giving it a majestic appearance.
