Xing'an League "Gegen Temple"

The predecessor of Gegen Temple was Lianhuatu Temple, which was built in the 13th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. (1748), and later Emperor Qianlong named the Lotus Temple "Fantong Temple". In the fifty-ninth year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1794), the second Gegen (living Buddha) of Fantong Temple came to the central area of ​​Horqin Right Front Banner to expand the temple. The Gegen Temple covers a total area of ​​more than 60,000 square meters. It has five major halls, namely Fantong Temple, Guangle Temple, Guangjue Temple, Hongji Temple and Huitong Temple. The interior of each hall is full of red-painted pillars, and the ceilings are painted with ancient dragon and phoenix patterns, which are magnificent and solemn. Gegen Temple is a temple complex modeled after the Srejebusang Temple in Tibet. The building is magnificent and has typical Tibetan characteristics.
