“Wat Sri Burapharam” or “Wat Ko Takhian” is located at Village 1, Wang Ka Jae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Trat Province. It is a famous temple that is revered by relatives and devotees in Trat Province because this temple is famous for its sacredness in many ways. Before it was established as a temple, Wat Sri Burapharam was originally a small monastery with only a few monks residing there. Then, in 1957, the villagers who believed in it agreed that it should be built as a temple so that the villagers would have a place to rely on their minds and be a center for important religious activities. Therefore, they collected money to build a temple and named it “Wat Ko Takhian”. When the temple was completed with the cooperation of the villagers, a ceremony to bury the boundary stone was held in 1981. Since then, Wat Ko Takhian has been developed and flourished in order. Various buildings were built to provide convenience for monks and devotees to perform religious activities. Later, Wat Ko Takhian changed its name to “Wat Sri Burapharam” as we know it today. For Wat Sri Buraparam, there was the first abbot and he was the same as the current abbot, Phra Khru Sangkhakit Burapa or Luang Pu Bua Thamko, a revered monk who is full of faith for the faithful and is considered a leading revered monk in the eastern region.
