The Dongbian Hall in Yaogang Village, Tonglu, Zhejiang

The Dongbian Hall in Yaogang Village is the earliest ancestral hall built by the Li clan who have lived here for generations. Built in the Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of about 350 square meters. It is a single-story wooden structure with three bays and three entrances, featuring a hard mountain roof. The first entrance has a concave front door, a stone-paved patio, and wooden pillars with stone bases. The corbels and beams are exquisitely carved. To protect and utilize this ancient building, the county has invited Tonglu-born calligraphy and seal carving artist Shi Yueer to open a seal carving studio in the Dongbian Hall. The studio integrates functions such as a workshop, research tours, and training. The studio regularly updates and displays works, including Tonglu poems, cliff carvings, and more. It is a historical building in Tonglu County.
