The German-style Deyutang Hall

Deyutang Hall is located in a small alley on the west side of the old street in Yaogang Village, Tonglu, Zhejiang Province. According to villagers, it was built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 191 square meters, faces west to east, and is a brick and wood structure. It is a two-story, four-sided courtyard house with three rooms, two alleys, and two entrances. It has a hard mountain roof with two slopes and a high screen wall. The doorframe is made of strip stones, and the stone base under the doorframe is carved with flowers. The main hall has a back hall between the steps and columns, with a depth of three purlins and two columns. The courtyard is paved with stone slabs, with two-story side buildings on both sides and double eaves around the courtyard. The second entrance has a depth of seven purlins and five columns, with a back hall. The carvings are well-preserved. It is a key cultural relic of Tonglu County.
