Shinjuku Gyoen | A Dreamy Date for Tokyo's Cherry Blossom Season

From March to April, more than 70 varieties of cherry blossoms bloom one after another. Different species like Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Yaezakura take turns to shine. Strolling through the park, you’ll find clusters of cherry blossoms set against green lawns here, and single cherry trees standing by the water there, creating picturesque scenes. Cherry blossoms of various colors and forms, some delicate pink and white, others brilliantly vivid, weave a colorful cherry blossom tunnel. Even if you miss the peak cherry blossom season in other parts of Tokyo, you can still catch the tail end of it at Shinjuku Gyoen. Every April, the Japanese Prime Minister holds a "Cherry Blossom Viewing Party" here. During the cherry blossom season, the garden is open every day.
