Ogikubo Villa

　➖Former residence of Fumimaro Konoe Built in 1927, designed by the famous architect Chuta Ito. Originally the villa of Tatsuji Iri, a professor of medicine at the University of Tokyo and the royal physician of Emperor Taisho. In 1937, it was purchased by Fumimaro Konoe, a politician who served as Prime Minister three times. Several important meetings marking political turning points in the pre-war Showa period were held here.
