Nezu Shrine Azalea Festival

After the cherry blossoms in spring, the azaleas take the stage in Tokyo, among which the Azalea Festival at Nezu Shrine is the most grand. The shrine grounds boast 100 varieties and 3,000 azalea plants. Nezu Shrine is located on the north side of Tokyo, and the vast azalea garden is specially opened during the April flower season. The azalea bushes are pruned into cute and round shapes, with a stunning visual mix of pink, peach, purple, and white varieties. Next to the azalea garden, there are also hundreds of Otome Inari torii gates. A long row of vermilion torii gates and the colorful azalea festival on the small hill complement each other, creating a limited-time breathtaking view every spring season.
