Shibamata Yamamototei

Shibamata is a friendly city with Beijing, China and Vienna, Austria. Yamamoto-tei is the private residence of Mr. Einosuke Yamamoto, the founder of the Yamamoto Factory (a camera parts manufacturer) who has close ties with the local area. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, the Yamamoto family moved here from Asakusa, and four generations of descendants have lived here since then. In 1988, Katsushika City bought it and opened it to the public in April 1991. Yamamoto-tei is a two-story wooden building with a tiled roof. The building has an area of ​​400 square meters, with a second floor area of ​​50 square meters, which includes a basement, warehouse, and long-house gate. It underwent several expansions and renovations between 1927 and 1930 to achieve its current appearance. The garden combines Eastern and Western styles, and the architecture integrates traditional academy The perfect harmony of the Japanese and Western architectural styles, the pure Japanese garden and the Western garden, has won high praise not only in Japan but also overseas for its precious cultural heritage value.
