[Tokyo/Junisha Kumano Shrine] A shrine surrounded by Shinjuku buildings

Jusansha Kumano Shrine is located in Shinjuku Central Park. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government building is right in front of the shrine, and skyscrapers line the surrounding area. The shrine was founded when Suzuki Kuro, a merchant from Kishu, invited Jusansho Gongen from the Kumano Sanzan mountains. The temizuya (purification fountain) is beautifully decorated, although it is not on a regular basis.
