[Tokyo/Nihonbashi Hie Shrine] A shrine in Kayabacho with 400 years of history

This shrine suddenly appears in a place surrounded by buildings. That's because the Tokyo Stock Exchange is nearby. It started out as a temporary resting place for Hie Shrine in Akasaka. A temporary resting place is a place where the portable shrine that leaves the main shrine during a shrine festival is temporarily rested. It is a place for resting or staying overnight. That's why the words "Sanno Otabisho" are written on the goshuin. After the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, in 1877 it became a non-ranked Hie Shrine, and when it was promoted to a government-sponsored shrine in 1915 it was renamed Sessha Hie Shrine! It was a bit strange that the shrine sign was not next to the torii gate but in front of the shrine office. The lion dogs stand with their chests out, and look somehow dignified. They look like they're looking up at the sky, so it looks like they're barking.
