A place where ancient life has been recreated

📍Awa Historical Site Park Awa Historical Site Park is a 45.2 hectare park that was opened in 1993 as part of the 100th anniversary of Tokushima City. The Nishiyano district, where the park is located, is a region with a strong cultural scent, with many cultural assets and historical and cultural heritage remaining, and is also blessed with a natural environment. The surrounding area is home to the Keenobeyama Kofun Group, with over 100 kofun (burial mounds) dating from the end of the 3rd century to the mid-7th century. The park has been developed to allow visitors to experience ancient life up close, and is divided into four areas: the "Ancient Life Zone," where visitors can experience ancient life through restored pit dwellings and raised-floor storehouses; the "History and Culture Zone," which houses the "Archaeological Museum," which houses and exhibits about 700 items from the Jomon to Heian periods that have been excavated in the city; the "Nature Experience Zone," where visitors can take a stroll while enjoying nature; and the "Historical Site Forest Zone," where visitors can experience the rich historical and cultural heritage of Awa. #0YenTripFebruary2025
