Yen Tu - Tu Duc Tomb

Today I would like to review a little bit about the Yen Tu relic complex. 🎀Usually when mentioning Yen Tu, people often only think of climbing mountains, going to pagodas to worship and will only go during the annual festivals. But in my opinion, in addition to the time to go to pagodas to pray for peace and luck, we can also visit Yen Tu in other months of the year to experience. Honestly, Yen Tu is now changing a lot, building extremely unique architectures to leave a wonderful heritage for the present and the future. My journey to conquer Yen Tu is 2N1D 👉1. Transportation 🚌 - I started from Hanoi city center, it took about 2 and a half to 3 hours because I didn't take the highway, but I slept on the bus so I didn't know anything 😀 👉2. Accommodation 🏠 - The room I stayed in was a dorm room, 4 people per room, each person had a bed, like my own cocoon. The room was a bit small for 4 people but fully equipped with amenities such as: air conditioner, electric kettle, hair dryer, towels, slippers, drinking water,... 👉3. Food and drink 🥘 - Eat and drink at restaurants in Yen Tu area, each house has a very nice name: Banh Chung, Banh Da, Banh Trung Thu,... - I went for 2N1D so I ate 3 main meals including 2 meat meals and 1 vegetarian meal. Enough calories for tourists when climbing to conquer Dong Pagoda - In meals in Yen Tu, the specialty Plum Wine is indispensable 👉4. Itinerary * Day 1🌟 - 8:30: Depart from Hanoi - 11:30: Check in and then have lunch - 14:00: Start the journey to conquer Yen Tu mountain peak - following the footsteps of the Buddha (I took the cable car 🚠🚡, the tour guide was humorous and enthusiastic in introducing the history and relics of the temples), climbing to the top of Dong pagoda was also a very difficult process. - Because it was raining and thundering on the way back, I had to wait a while to take the cable car :V so I came back a bit late - 18:45: go back to the room, shower and go eat (the dining room is extremely eye-catching, beautifully decorated, I couldn't bear to eat) - When I went, I really wanted to watch the village festival, but my luck was bad so it rained huhu and I couldn't watch activities like releasing flower lanterns, bamboo dancing,... Instead, after eating, I went sightseeing around a bit, then went to soak my feet in herbal medicine and got a foot massage (after climbing the mountain and getting a foot massage is great, I went back to my room and slept soundly until morning :v) * Day 2🌟 - 6:30: participate in the meditation and yoga experience, learn how to plant banana trees :V but I couldn't plant banana trees 🤣 - 7:30: have breakfast buffet (For breakfast, there was pho, vermicelli, but of course the broth couldn't be as delicious as pho in Hanoi) - 8:30: Hotel tour - visit Legacy Yen Tu (extremely majestic, unique architecture, very Vietnamese but still luxurious, it is true that when you walk 100m, you will have 100 super cool photos :v you should wear a long flared skirt to have the best photos) - 10:00: participate in the experience of making conical hats, drawing Dong Ho paintings, mixing essential oils (you can take the products home),... - 11:00: lunch, I ate at a Tay house 😀 and I was only able to drink 1 cup of plum wine - 12:00: get on the bus to return to Hanoi. That's the end of the Yen Tu experience program

Yen Tu Mountain

Yen Tu (Chinese: 安子山, Yen Tu Son) is a mountain range stretching across the three provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, and Hai Duong and is also the name of the highest mountain in the range. This is a mountain range associated with the Tran Dynasty in Vietnamese history as well as with the Truc Lam Zen sect. Yen Tu range belongs to the Dong Trieu arc, one of the four main mountain arcs in the Northeast region of Vietnam. The mountain range has a terrain that gradually decreases from east to west, with an average height of over 600 m above sea level; the highest point is Yen Tu peak (1,068 m) and the lowest point is the Con Son - Kiep Bac area (200–238 m), near Luc Dau Giang. The southern slope (also known as the East Yen Tu slope) mainly belongs to Quang Ninh province and a small part belongs to Hai Duong province, while the northern slope (also known as the West Yen Tu slope) belongs to Bac Giang province. Historically, Yen Tu has always been one of the Buddhist centers of the country, associated with many ancient architectures, built through different historical periods (Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen). In 1294, after King Tran Nhan Tong abdicated the throne to his son Tran Thuyen (King Tran Anh Tong) and became the Supreme Emperor, he became a Buddhist monk at Vu Lam Palace, Ninh Binh. In 1299, he came to Yen Tu, took the dharma name Huong Van Dai Dau Da or Truc Lam Dai Dau Da, and attracted many disciples[6][7]. Here, he built a system of pagodas, hermitages, and towers and founded the Truc Lam Zen sect, a Buddhist Zen sect with Vietnamese cultural identity that exists to this day.
