For food lovers, Kin Khao Lam in Kanchanaburi serves up excellent Northern Thai cuisine. Their khao soi is a must-try, with a rich, creamy coconut curry base and crispy noodles on top. The khantoke appetiser set is another highlight, featuring a selection of traditional Northern dishes in small portions, perfect for sampling a bit of everything. While some people might enjoy Pang Cha, personally, I found it overpriced and not to my taste. It’s popular for its tea and desserts, but I’d say it’s worth trying just to see if it’s for you. It’s a must-visit if you have a sweet tooth and want to try something local. Back in Kanchanaburi, Zab Zab is the go-to place for Isaan food. If you’re craving spicy, bold flavors, this is the spot. They serve up all the Isaan classics, like som tum (papaya salad), larb (spicy minced meat salad), and sai krok Isaan (fermented pork sausages). The flavors are authentic, and it’s a great way to experience the taste of Thailand’s northeast.
