The magnificence of Uchisar Castle, the highest point in Cappadocia

On the last day of my trip to Cappadocia, I decided to get closer to the huge rock tower that I could see from afar - Uçhisar Castle. This "castle" made of natural volcanic rocks is not only the highest point in the area, but also more like a fortress left on the surface by time. The climb up is not easy. The rock stairs are winding and you need to use your hands and feet in some places. But when I stood on the top, the 360-degree panoramic view of Cappadocia was breathtaking. The fairy chimneys in the distance, the endless valley, and even the hot air balloon take-off point are clearly visible. At this moment, I seemed to be standing at the intersection of history and nature. This "castle" was actually an ancient defensive stronghold and residence, full of passages and caves, and is said to date back to BC. In the past, residents took advantage of the easy-to-carve texture of volcanic rock to create a honeycomb-like rock dwelling world, which can be regarded as a natural fortification. Although no one lives there now, it still retains the spatial structure and mysterious atmosphere of that time. If you come to Cappadocia, it is far from enough to just take a hot air balloon ride.
