I boarded the Tarifa-Tangier cruise! 🇪🇸⛴️🇲🇦 🛄ㅣDeparture from Tarifa Port The port of Tarifa, Spain's southernmost city, was bustling with activity, befitting a gateway to Africa. Upon entering the terminal, there was a ticket booth where you could purchase ferry tickets to Tangier and a simple immigration checkpoint. Tarifa is one of the few ports in the Schengen area that offers direct access to Morocco, so simply bring your passport and boarding pass for easy passage. Before boarding the ship, the view of the Strait of Gibraltar from the dock was already special. The faint glimpse of the Moroccan coastline across the sea further heightened the excitement of "I'm about to depart for another continent." ⛴️ A 1-Hour Crossing the Strait The Tarifa-Tangier cruise is short, just over an hour, but, as befitting a route connecting two continents, it leaves a lasting impression. As soon as the ship departs, the Spanish coastline recedes, and the waters of the strait, where the azure Atlantic and Mediterranean meet, transform from emerald to deep blue depending on the light. Standing on deck, a cool sea breeze blows, and behind you, the Rock of Gibraltar gradually shrinks, offering a majestic view of Europe slowly receding. On a clear day, the Andalusian coast of Spain on the left and the Moroccan Rif Mountains on the right become increasingly clear, making you realize just how close Europe and Africa truly are. 🕌 Arrival in Tangier Approximately an hour later, as you approach the port of Tangier, the characteristic white buildings and blue roofs lining the harbor become increasingly visible. Upon arrival, you will undergo Moroccan immigration. You can get your passport stamped onboard, making the process simple and hassle-free after disembarking.
