You’ll fall for Shirakawa-go. 🏡 Iconic gassho-zukuri houses with steep thatched roofs ❄️ Best in winter (truly magical under the snow!) but gorgeous all year 🌌 Peaceful, remote, ideal for a one-night stay or dreamy day trip 📸 One of the most photogenic places I’ve seen in Japan 🎨 Kanazawa – For Culture & Cool City Life Want a bit of everything without Tokyo crowds? Go for Kanazawa! 🪷 Explore Kenroku-en Garden (one of Japan’s top 3!) 🥷 Samurai & Geisha districts, modern art, fresh seafood at Omicho Market 🏙️ A great blend of tradition and urban culture 🚄 Bonus: Easily reached by Shinkansen from Tokyo or Kyoto 🧳 My Tip? If you have time: Day trip to Shirakawa-go from Takayama or Kanazawa Stay in Takayama for coziness Stay in Kanazawa for convenience + variety Each place has its magic ✨ but your travel style will decide which one’s your favorite!
