Taipei National Palace Museum Zhishan Garden

#AsiaTravelRecord The National Palace Museum is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Taiwan, attracting many people from all over the world, and Zhishan Garden is a Chinese garden located inside the National Palace Museum. Zhishan Garden recreates a Song Dynasty garden using traditional Chinese landscaping techniques. The 18,000m2 site is reminiscent of a watercolor painting. There are several ponds in Zhishan Garden, but this one is the closest to the main gate. The name Brush-Washing Pond comes from the anecdote that Zhang Zhi, a calligrapher of the Eastern Han Dynasty, would always practice his calligraphy while looking over the pond at his home. The pond was always dyed pitch black because Zhang Zhi would wash the ink from his brush with the water.
