About #十鼓文化创公园 Our factory was formerly known as the Chelukan Sugar Factory, which was founded in 1909 by the Japanese-funded Taiwan Sugar Co., Ltd. and started production in 1910. In November 1945, it was supervised by the National Resources Council of the National Government and taken over the following year. Sugar production during the 1934/1935 period was completed by former Japanese sugar company staff under the supervision of the Resources Committee. During the Pacific War, although our factory was not directly bombed by Allied aircraft, it was indirectly affected by the disrepair of equipment and the abandonment of sugarcane cultivation. Although the sugar-making equipment was still intact, the factory buildings and other equipment were in ruins, especially the deserted sugarcane plantations and the imbalance in raw material production were even more serious. On May 1, 1946, the Taiwan Sugar Corporation was established, and our factory was under the jurisdiction of the Second District Branch. In July 1940, the company abolished the district branch system, and our factory was placed under the supervision of the General Factory. In July 1958, the Zongye Sugar Factory was changed to "Majia General Factory". In order to implement the large factory system, the "Sankandian Sugar Factory" was merged into the factory and renamed "Chekan Sugar Factory", which was still under the supervision of the Majia General Factory. In July 1967, the factory reorganized and part of the business of Sankan Store was separated and the factory was restored as "Chelukan Sugar Factory" and was placed under the jurisdiction of Kaohsiung Head Office. In August 1969, the factory name was changed to Ren De Sugar Factory in accordance with the name of the township where it was located, and the organization remained the same. In June 1975, the Kaohsiung Sugar Factory was abolished and our factory was placed under the supervision of the Pingtung General Factory. During the Japanese occupation, the factory's daily crushing capacity was 1,500 metric tons, which was increased to 2,600 metric tons in 1971. In July 2003, the factory was closed and merged into the Shanhua Sugar Factory. In September 2004, it was taken over by the Tainan District Office.
