Eat in Tai Po | OX Steak Lounge | The Blue Steakhouse is a must-visit for Beef Kings

The blue color of OX Steak Lounge makes people feel noble and elegant. When you walk into the restaurant, the golden bull head decoration on the wall is so eye-catching. The menu is also blue. The two tasting menus are NT$688 and NT$588 respectively, and I decided to order one waffle and one shrimp cake each. You can pay extra for drinks. The waffles and shrimp cakes came with a glass of red wine ($28) and a glass of white wine ($28). You can also choose coffee ($38), juice ($38) or draft beer ($48). The appetizer of the 588 yuan set meal is the day's selected oysters. The oysters from France have a crisp texture, and are fresh and delicious. Another appetizer was the slow-cooked smoked ox tongue salad. I haven’t had a Caesar salad for a long time, and I liked that it didn’t have salad dressing, which made it feel lighter and healthier. After being slow-cooked at low temperature, the beef tongue has a tender texture and a salty flavor, and the lettuce just neutralizes the saltiness. The soup for the day was pumpkin cream soup, which was extremely sweet. The soup in the 688 yuan set meal is top-quality beef liver and mushroom cream soup with a strong mushroom flavor. The soup comes with crispy French bread and soft buns, and the most special thing is the smooth butter in the beef bones. For the main course, Waffles ordered beef Wellington with black truffle and foie gras, and the presentation was clearly well thought out. The puff pastry is baked until golden brown, and you can tell it is very crispy when you cut it. It contains medium-rare beef tenderloin, black truffles and foie gras, with rich and layered flavors. The side dish was sweet potato fries with honey mustard sauce, which was a generous portion and not greasy at all. Shrimp Cake ordered grilled rare black Angus beef ribs. I have eaten a lot of grilled pork ribs, but this was my first time to grill beef ribs. There were two large pieces of beef ribs, which were full of beef flavor and the meat was tender enough. It is worth a try. The French fries under the beef ribs are also of good quality. Finally, it’s dessert time. Of course, I had to take a photo of the top-notch Belgian dessert with “Happy Birthday” written on it first. The long-lost Heart is too soft and very delicious, with a crispy surface and runny inside. It has a strong chocolate flavor and is not too sweet. There are two sorbets on the side, one peach flavor and one lemon flavor, and the lemon flavor is better.
