Suzhou Museum | Learn about Suzhou culture and visit the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Zhongwang Mansion

Suzhou Museum is located on Dongbei Street, Gusu District, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It was established on New Year's Day in 1960. The museum is divided into two parts. The eastern part is the old museum, which is the former site of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Zhongwang Mansion. The western part is the new museum, which was designed by the famous architect I. M. Pei and opened in 2006. The new museum covers an area of about 10,750 square meters and is divided into three parts. The central part is the entrance, lobby, and museum garden. The western part is the exhibition area. The eastern part is used for modern art galleries, educational facilities, tea services, and administrative functions. The museum is free to visit, but you need to make an online reservation one week in advance and use your ID card to enter.
