📍7.19 Day 1 Xining - Menyuan - Qilian Mountains - Qilian County, 4.5h drive ✈️ Arrive in Xining at 12:20 PM (pick up car) 🥣 On the car 🐾 Dabanshan Viewing Platform - Menyuan Rapeseed Flowers - Qilian Mountain Grassland 🥣 Ebao Town 🏠 Qilian County ✨ You can take a break at Heiquan Reservoir along the way. ✨ The temperature in the Qilian Mountains is low, bring a windbreaker. You can find a private ranch to visit. ✨ First take the highway, then switch to National Highway 227. (It rained that day 🌧️, from 38°C high heat in Changsha 🥵 to about 10°C in Menyuan 🥶, barely got off the car the whole time 😂) 📍7.20 Day 2 Zhuo'er Mountain - Erga Road - Rainbow Mountains, 4h drive 🚗 Depart at 9:30 AM 🐾 Back mountain of Zhuo'er Mountain - Rixu Village, Arou Township (recommended by the homestay owner) 🥣 On the car 🚗 Depart for Zhangye at 1:30 PM 🏠 Rest at hotel at 5:00 PM 🐾 Rainbow Mountains at 6:00 PM 🥣 At the scenic spot 🏠 Rainbow Mountains West Gate ✨ Went to the back mountain of Zhuo'er Mountain, navigation: Qilian Mountain Tianjing Mountain • Lunbu Xiaguo, parking lot on the left 👈 then go to the place recommended by the homestay owner, fewer people and beautiful scenery. ✨ Was hesitating whether to take Erga Road, but a friend said since we’re here, let’s go. The first half is very beautiful ⛰️, but the section with frequent mudslides and falling rocks was a bit nerve-wracking. If it rains, everyone should choose the highway for safety first 1️⃣. ✨ Only visited the No. 4 viewing platform at Rainbow Mountains, as expected it was crowded. Took photos squeezed in the crowd. Around 8 PM on the way to the West Gate by car, while transferring at Yunhaitai, found a perfect spot for sunset photos with very few people, much better than the crowded spot above ✌🏻 A pleasant surprise~ ✨ Stayed near the West Gate, all newly opened homestays, very convenient for food and drinks 👍 Although it looks like there are many people queuing for the shuttle bus in and out of the scenic area, it’s actually quite fast. Remember to queue at the innermost and farthest spot.
