Stresa — the Paradise An hour away from Milan

Took a quick escape from Milan to Stresa, and suddenly I’m the protagonist of a romantic novel set on Lake Maggiore. Bought a ferry pass, hopped on a boat, and suddenly I’m island-hopping like it’s a full-time job. Three islands. One day. Zero regrets. Isola Bella — baroque palace, dramatic gardens, white peacocks. I strutted like I owned the place and fully believed I was royalty in a past life. Isola dei Pescatori — tiny fisherman’s island, aka Seafood Heaven. I had risotto with a lake view and briefly considered abandoning city life to open a wine bar here. Isola Madre — quiet, lush, and low-key spiritual. I wandered the gardens like I was in a Studio Ghibli scene and made peace with my inbox for the first time in months.
