The picturesque houses of Strasbourg

Strasbourg is famous worldwide for the Christmas period, as the queen of the Alsace region. The teddy bear decorations on the balconies and the Christmas lights attract thousands of tourists each year. However Strasbourg is also beautiful to see outside the holiday season, with less crowds and more serenity. The most picturesque area of Strasbourg is without doubt the Petite France. It’s full of those unique houses with the triangle rooftops and the wooden colourful facades which create a traditional atmosphere and together with the canals, make the scenery magical. Do not miss to admire the Catedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg, the large cathedral of the city. Other attractions that you must definitely visit are the outside of the Tire-Bouchon restaurant (the famous house with the teddy bears on the facade during Christmas), the Place Kléber, the Pont Saint-Martin bridge with the colourful houses and the Place Benjamin Zix. Christmas in Alsace Strasbourg’s Christmas markets are unmissable: mulled wine, bredele (Alsatian cookies), artisanal gifts, and the magic of twinkling lights everywhere! 🌟 Visit in late November to December for max festive vibes. Getting Around: Strasbourg’s tram system is quick and easy — grab a day pass for unlimited rides. You can cover all these spots on foot if you love walking. Food Rec: Absolutely try tarte flambée (Alsace’s answer to pizza) at a local winstub! Essential Tips: No visa needed for most EU tourists. Bring warm layers (it’s chilly and festive!).
