An airy and well-sized double-fronted cafe, with an emphasis upon coffee quality. A house blend is supplemented by a changing rota of coffees. The expression-based ones are prepared in the fashionable ‘bitter+oil+crema’ style but the drip/filter was more rounded and to my taste. Cakes and open sandwiches are offered. At the till is a clear sign yelling laptop users to go into the ‘computer room’ - a narrower side room with high and low desk seating. This stops the main area being overrun with one person with a laptop hogging-a-table syndrome. It’s a great idea and now the east of the cafe feels more welcoming and old-school charming. I think it’s an approach that could catch on. I went twice in two days and if I was put up nearby this would become a reliable haunt. #europetravel #staycation #localspot
