Stanford | An Academic and Artistic Hotspot

| A treasure trove where academics and art coexist. ➊ Arizona Garden The famous cactus🌵 botanical garden. Though small, it is exquisitely designed and home to a wide variety of cacti. Each flower bed offers a unique view. ➋ Cantor Arts Center Once the world's largest private museum, it houses treasures from around the globe🌍 and is free to the public. Each gallery has a distinct theme, from African art to Asian vessels, from oil paintings👩‍🎨 to sculptures. ➌ Richard Serra: Sequence Located behind the Cantor Arts Center, this large outdoor sculpture consists of 12 giant steel plates. Walking through it feels like navigating a maze or hiking through Arizona's🏜 Grand Canyon. ➍ Stanford Oval A huge oval lawn at the center of campus, with a flower bed spelling out a large "S" in the middle. On sunny days, many students lie on the lawn, making one envious of student life. ➎ Main Quad Looking forward from the oval lawn, you'll see Stanford's most famous square. The stately buildings have arched cloisters, and at sunrise and sunset, the long shadows of the columns create a romantic atmosphere. Through Memorial Court is Memorial Church, the heart of the campus. Even after multiple visits, its exquisite murals remain awe-inspiring. ➏ Hoover Tower The best angle to photograph Hoover Tower is actually around Main Quad. Getting too close to the building makes it hard to capture its entirety. However, to truly appreciate its grandeur, the fountain at the foot of the tower is the perfect spot. ➐ Windhover A contemplative center with an oriental charm. One side of the building is lined with ginkgo trees. Even when not golden, their lush green foliage is beautiful.
