Roman Ruins Right Next to the Station in Sofia

Near a metro station in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, you'll find ancient Roman ruins. Located right inside the station and along the adjacent underground passageways, they offer a unique glimpse of historical ruins seamlessly integrated into everyday life. I've visited ruins all over the world, but this was my first time seeing them inside a subway station, which completely amazed me. You can walk right down to the ruins to get a closer look. There are several information boards where you can learn about the excavation process and what the site was like when it was in use. There is no admission fee, so anyone can explore it for free. You can view the site up close or look down at it from above. It's rare to find ruins that you can observe so closely from multiple angles.
