Pena Palace

Pena Palace (Palacio da Pena) is a Portuguese royal palace. The red and yellow Pena Palace on the verdant mountain, with its cheerful pink colors and rocket-like castle turrets, makes it look like a fairy-tale castle. In addition, there are paths, porches, and fixed drawbridges, etc., forming a castle with a combination of various architectural styles. Pena Palace was built in 1840, nearly a century and a half ago, but it is still one of the newer palaces in Sintra. The palace is built on the rocks at the top of the mountain, making it look as if the palace is growing out of the mountaintop rocks, which is quite extraordinary.
