Romantic beach for couples: Sihanouk Ville

From Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, to Sihanoukville, it takes about 3 hours by express bus, and depending on the seat class, one-way tickets cost $15 to $21, and round-trip tickets are discounted up to $40. Flight attendants provide bread and drinks. There are flights from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to Sihanouk, but you can choose according to your preference. I recommend an express bus from Phnom Penh. In Siem Reap, where Angkor Wat is located, there is no expressway, so it takes about 9 hours by national road, so I recommend an airplane. Sihanoukville is a coastal city in Cambodia, a resort city with soft white sand and a lake-like sea. Since Chinese capital has been pouring in for about 10 years, numerous high-rise buildings have been built. The streets of Sihanoukville, lined with luxury hotels, casinos, and entertainment businesses built by Chinese capital, are filled with numerous Chinese people and Chinese-character advertisements, making it feel like you are in a city in China. Sihanoukville, once home to over 100,000 Chinese, has been in the news for its illegal gambling establishments and dens of voice phishing crimes. As the influx of Chinese capital has slowed due to the spread of COVID-19, the city has become a place where abandoned high-rise buildings have been built, making it feel like a post-war ruined city. Locals say they don’t know when the Chinese will return and the city will be revived. Unlike this ugly downtown area, the Sokha Hotel Resort, which has long been a resort on the beach, offers a romantic atmosphere and relieves travelers’ fatigue. The hotel has its own outdoor pool and a beach that is exclusive to the hotel’s guests, so it is quiet, has beautiful white sand, and feels great to walk barefoot. After dinner, you can visit the recently built Jin Bei Hotel Casino nearby to experience the casino game, then go to the beach to have a drink at the beach night club and enjoy the night view of the beach. This will be a healing tour that will allow you to feel the atmosphere of this place. I spent 3 nights and 4 days in Sihanoukville with my friend and had a time of deep friendship. Since there are no direct flights from Korea, it is better to use Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, or Angkor Sky Air to Phnom Penh and then take an express bus from Phnom Penh. After arriving in Phnom Penh, I recommend visiting the Royal Palace, the museum, and the Tuslang Prison, the site of the Killing Fields, and stopping by the traditional market, Central Market, to buy cheap goods and taste traditional Cambodian food. For accommodations in Phnom Penh, I recommend the Cambodiana Hotel near the Royal Palace or the Naga World Hotel Casino (5 stars), which has the largest casino in Cambodia.
