#summervacay Even though the Palio is short, the energy in Piazza del Campo during summer is electric. I wore my contrada’s colors (I’d picked one!), joined the crowds, and felt the pulse of history — drums, chants, waving flags. Then the horses thundered by in a blink. The heat, the dust, the cheers…it hits you in the chest. It’s raw, communal, and unforgettable. A summer festival that grabs your soul and refuses to let go.
