"Sri Thep Historical Park", Phetchabun

When talking about Phetchabun Province, the first tourist attraction that comes to mind is Phu Thap Boek. However, this is our third time in Phetchabun, so we wanted to find a new place that we had never been to before. Then we found out that Phetchabun also has an old city, which is "Sri Thep Historical Park". It is one of the important historical sites in Phetchabun Province. The park covers the ancient sites in the old city of Si Thep. Si Thep is an ancient city in Si Thep District. It was originally called "Mueang Aphai Sali" and was discovered when His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab visited Phetchabun Province and renamed it "Mueang Si Thep" in 1904-1905. Si Thep is a large city within a city. It is located at a junction that can easily connect with other regions. Therefore, it has been influenced by arts and cultures from neighboring kingdoms, such as Dvaravati art and Khmer art. Si Thep was built during the Khmer Empire, which is estimated to be at least 1,000 years old, based on evidence from architecture, art, and culture that has been passed down to the present day. Which has its own unique identity and is the most advanced in terms of architecture and art. It is assumed that it was developed during the 11th to the 16th Buddhist centuries.
