Shuozhou Museum

The museum is located on the northeast side of the intersection of Zhenhua Street and Zhangliao North Road in Shuocheng District. The main structure consists of three above-ground floors and a partial underground floor. It is composed of the Industrial Exhibition Hall, the Ancient Civilization Exhibition Hall, and the Cultural Relics Storage. The special exhibitions on 'Ancient Civilization' and industrial displays not only carry rich historical culture but also highlight the strong regional characteristics of Shuozhou. Shuozhou is at the crossroads of northern ethnic minority cultures and has been a strategic military location, with over a hundred recorded battles in historical documents. The second and third exhibition halls in the museum provide detailed introductions to several famous battles in Shuozhou's history, as well as anecdotes about notable figures in the evolution of Shuozhou's history. The Four Gods Dyeing Furnace is one of the ingeniously designed cooking utensils of the ancients. Its structure can be divided into three parts: the main body is the charcoal furnace in the middle, the lower part is the tray that holds the charcoal furnace, and on top is a movable ear cup, which is a type of dining utensil. The furnace body is oval-shaped, with hollow carvings of the Four Gods on the upper part. The Azure Dragon and White Tiger are on the left and right sides, while the Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise are on the front and back sides. Below, four dwarfs stand on the tray. The overall shape of the utensil is exquisitely crafted with superb craftsmanship, making it a rare and fine piece.
