📍Gifu | Shirakawa Village Shirakawa-go covered in snow is just too beautiful. I used to think that getting to Shirakawa-go from Tokyo was quite a challenge, but did you know there's a bus that gets you there in just over an hour from Kanazawa?! So, even if you can't stay overnight in Shirakawa-go, you can use Kanazawa as a base and make a day trip out of it. Suddenly, Shirakawa-go feels much closer. You can only see the night illuminations if you stay overnight or make a reservation in advance, but if you just want to enjoy it during the day, it's a quick trip.
