Ikaho Hot Springs, Gunma

Ikaho Onsen is a historic hot spring area that can be reached in less than an hour by train from Maebashi. The town is centered around a 300-meter-long stone-step street, lined with restaurants, souvenir shops and traditional hotels. The town is located on the side of Mount Haruna, and most of the hot spring baths overlook the neighboring mountains. A short bus ride takes you to the stunning crater lake at the top of Mount Haruna. The famous Mizusawa Temple (Mizusawa Kannon Temple) is located near Ikaho Onsen, and on the way to the temple, there are many restaurants that are equally famous for their Mizusawa Udon. #ChristmasDestinations2024
