Kish Village | Church of Kish

Kish Village (Kish or Kiş), located in the northern part of Azerbaijan, is about 7 kilometers away from Sheki. The most famous site in this village is the church built around the 12th century. It has a simple exterior and is not very large, but it has a long history and has witnessed the vicissitudes of life and the changes of centuries. Historical records indicate that the church has had different affiliations at different times. It has been an Apostolic Church of Caucasian Albania, a Georgian Orthodox Church within the Chalcedonian tradition, and later an Armenian Apostolic Church. Today, the church has been transformed into a museum of Caucasian Albania and is open to visitors. To reach Kish Village, it is recommended to take a taxi there (using an app for convenience), and on the return trip, experience taking a bus (the fare is about 0.4 Manat, equivalent to approximately 1.7 RMB). The ticket price for the church is 2 Manat for locals and 9 Manat for tourists.
