I finally found my home in Shangri-La!

I remember when I came to Shangri-La after graduating from high school, it was still a small Tibetan town with no special features. I came all the way from Lijiang, and the thing that impressed me most was the barley racks that looked like launch pads, scattered on the Yila grassland. · It has been almost 20 years since we met again. Time flies, and Shangri-La has changed so much. For example, Dukezong Ancient Town was not a tourist area in the past, and people didn’t even know it existed. But now it has become a symbol of Shangri-La. · When you step into Dukezong Ancient Town, you actually feel like you are in a dazzled Lijiang. However, the rugged Tibetan customs are incomparable to the Lijiang with its small bridges and flowing water. Most of the old town along Guishan Mountain has been rebuilt after the fire in 2014, but I still like this style, the stone roads and wooden houses, and the distant footsteps of the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. There are no complicated streets here. As long as you follow the direction of Guishan, you will definitely find your way home. · In our home in Shangri-La, my friend and I specially chose the LUX Shangri-La Tea Horse Road Shangri-La and the Hotel Indigo Moonlight City, and stayed for one night each. We didn’t expect that the two hotels were actually next to each other. Here are my impressions of these two hotels: · First of all, the environment. Both of them have a view overlooking Dukezong Ancient Town, but in terms of environment, Indigo is much better. After all, the park area alone is several times larger than LUX. The hotel area is like a park, and there are many artworks displayed in the public area, making it nice to stroll around and take pictures. The view overlooking the ancient town is also better. The LUX is indeed too small, with only 9 rooms open. Its main purpose is to provide a secluded place, but the viewing angle is indeed more sideways, and is not as good as the Indigo for taking photos. · The second is the 🛏️ room. Personally, I think LUX is relatively better. The ordinary rooms of Indigo are really small and a bit cramped. The amenities are all standard, but almost all the rooms have a view overlooking the ancient city. Even the basic room types at LUX come with a small courtyard, and the amenities are of high quality, even the curtains are made of cowhide. The only drawback is that not all rooms can overlook the ancient city, and there is no elevator. · Finally, food and beverage. Personally, I think both have their merits. Indigo's advantage lies in the restaurant environment. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows reflect the morning mist of Shangri-La, and the view is absolutely unique. LUX is small and exquisite. Every breakfast is prepared individually for you and is very exquisite. There is also a small terrace overlooking the ancient city, but it is a bit cold. · Guess which one I prefer?
