A hotel that gave me time to relax in the middle of a big city

#TravelAdvice I'm Matsumura, a traveling writer who enjoys travel and gourmet food! 🌿 This hotel gave me time to "get in shape" in the middle of a big city. —— The Anandi Hotel & Spa Shanghai @theanandihotel This was a hotel I'd always wanted to stay at when I visited Shanghai. Located in the Hongqiao area, famous for its airport, the Anandi Hotel & Spa offers a tranquil atmosphere, like being in a forest, despite being in one of the world's largest cities. ◯ Impression: The moment I checked in and entered the lobby, I was greeted by the soft aroma of aromatherapy and soft music. The air was so different I thought, "Is this really Shanghai?" The entire hotel seemed designed as a place to "get in shape" for mind and body, and I felt like I was breathing deeper just by staying there. ◯ Room: The room was simple and elegant. I appreciated the service of having delicious tea delivered every morning. I enjoyed the aromatherapy diffuser set during turndown service, or soaked in a traditional Chinese bath, enjoying a relaxing time. The Suzhou River flows outside the window, and I was able to sit on the terrace and gaze out at it. ◯ Building: The building seems to incorporate the concept of the "Tai Chi Bagua," and the flow of "chi" feels comfortable wherever I am. My steps naturally became lighter. ◯ Food: The breakfast buffet was generally mildly flavored, and every bite was a delight. Since my plan included lounge access, I also enjoyed afternoon tea and cocktail hour. ◯ Special Experience: The Healing Touch Spa was the most memorable experience. I was able to relax in the bath, sauna, and rock sauna. I also received an Ayurvedic-inspired physical assessment, and participated in daily yoga and meditation classes. I spent so much time here that I barely had time to leave the hotel. When I'm feeling a bit tired from work or relationships, a relaxing night here is enough to get me ready to tackle the next day.
