A 3-night, 4-day trip to the romantic city of Shanghai🩵

Shanghai, a city that's become increasingly popular with China's recent visa-free travel restrictions, is truly a beautiful city with so much to see. I'll share my itinerary, compiled from my two trips to Shanghai... 🩵 📍Day 1 We'll depart the airport, take the maglev train to downtown Shanghai, and then take a taxi to our hotel. The main food and attractions are located near East Nanjing Road and the Bund, so I recommend a hotel closer to the Bund than the Oriental Pearl Tower! (While the view from the Oriental Pearl Tower is beautiful, the Bund is usually the tourist destination, so you'll have to constantly cross the river to get there.) After a quick lunch at Waipojia, we walked to the Bund. The streets there were so beautiful that many people took wedding photos! After checking in at the hotel, we unpacked and rested for a bit before heading to the Oriental Pearl Tower to enjoy the night view. A nearby restaurant called "Chill's" is also famous for its Bund view pub! It's a great place to enjoy a drink while enjoying the view. "Casanova" is a great restaurant with the Bund in the background, so it's a bit pricey, but considering you'll be able to take photos on the terrace after your meal, it's well worth it! 📍Day 2 Let's head to the suburbs! I've been to two suburbs: Suzhou and Zhujiajiao! Personally, I found Zhujiajiao to be less crowded and more tranquil than Suzhou, making it a great place to explore. 🥹 Suzhou's main streets are overcrowded, making it difficult to take photos or explore leisurely, but there are plenty of gardens and other attractions! A round trip by train costs about 15,000 won, and the trip to Zhujiajiao is about an hour long. I took the subway to Zhujiajiao and a taxi back, but it took quite a while, so transportation was inconvenient! 😬 In Suzhou, I had lunch at Ruyu Suzhou, and since there weren't any good places to eat in Zhujiajiao, I just ate near my accommodation! It's the prettiest when it's completely dark, so it's a great place to enjoy the view from a cafe overlooking the river!🩵 📍Day 3 For lunch, have Peking duck at Yeosanghai and then head straight to Xintiandi! It's close enough to walk to.😛 On the way, stop by the Shanghai Provisional Government, take a look around Xintiandi, and take plenty of photos. I also recommend the cafe on the second floor of the Le Labo store! There's not much seating, but they offer a variety of drinks, including soy milk, oat milk, and milk substitutes, so it's a great place to try out different flavors.ㅎㅎ After a quick break at the cafe, head to Yuyuan Garden around 3 p.m. The garden inside Yuyuan Garden is only open until 4:30 p.m., so if you want to explore leisurely, I recommend going about an hour early! It's so spacious and beautiful inside, I'm amazed.🥹 In Yuyuan Garden, I waited for darkness to set in at a cafe with a view, took some more photos of the nightscape, and then headed for dinner! If you're traveling to Shanghai, I highly recommend Heonjiu Yi Chien. The epitome of lamb skewers. Utopia. Perfect. It's... 🩵🤤🥹 The wait is long, so I recommend sending a remote wait request via WeChat and taking your time! After you're done eating, it's perfect to walk back to your accommodation after exploring Nanjing East Road! 📍Day 4 For lunch, we'll go to Canton 8, a two-star Michelin restaurant! It's really hard to find affordable two-star Michelin restaurants, but this one is seriously affordable!! However, there might be a wait if you go late, so we went for the opening run. I saw locals waiting in front of the restaurant before it opened. Afterwards, you can enjoy sightseeing around the North Bund, Nanjing East Road, and Starbucks Reserve Bakery, depending on your flight schedule! #TravelPlan #ChinaTravel #ShanghaiTravel #ShanghaiSuburbs #3N4DTravel #OverseasTravel
