Shanghai Jing An Temple

#chinatravel Location : 1686 Nanjing West Road Rd, Jing'An, Shanghai Admission Fee : 50 yuan Opening Hours ; 0730 to 1700 hours Jing An Temple 静安寺 ( also known as the Temple of Peace and Tranquility) is a very famous Buddhist Temple in Shanghai. Located near the upmarket / affluent Jing An shopping belt. Come by and marvel at the ancient and intricate statutes and Tangmi Buddhist architecture. Highlights include : - The Guanyin Hall. In the center of the hall is a statue of the Goddess of Mercy made out of camphor wood. Standing on a lotus-shaped base, it is 6.2 meters tall and weighs 5 metric tons - The Jade Buddha Hall, where a 3.8 metre jade Buddha sits in the center. It is the largest sitting jade Buddha statue in China - Other halls include : Hall of Heavenly Kings, Hall of the Three Saints, Hall of Virtuous Works and the Mahavira Hall In the evening, the Temple, surroundings and walking street is lit in bright golden lights which is another spectacular sight altogether. There are some souvenir and snack stalls you can patronise or simply just head into the nearby malls to chill. #shanghai #jingantemple

Modern Marvels & Timeless Views in Shanghai 🚶♂️🏙️ Get ready for an urban adventure through Shanghai’s must-see icons, blending sleek skyscrapers, buzzing cultural spots, and riverside romance—all in one unforgettable stroll! Start with Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, the liveliest shopping boulevard in China (Henan Middle Road, Huangpu District, open all day). Dive into laidback morning walks or prime evening people-watching. Pro tip: Early arrival means fewer crowds and soft sunlight for your shots. Don’t miss snaps featuring modern storefronts framed by heritage buildings—super insta-worthy on a sunny day! Next, head to The Bund (Zhongshan East Road, right by the Huangpu River—open all day), Shanghai’s dreamy riverside promenade lined with colonial architecture and shimmering city skylines. For that epic photo, pose with the futuristic Pudong skyline behind you, especially as day turns to neon-lit night. Take a moment to soak up both the city buzz and gentle river breeze—my personal highlight! Finish by hopping onto the Jinling East Road Ferry (No.141 Bund, open 7:00 AM–9:00 PM) for a unique, budget-friendly way to cross the river. The Ferry offers front-row city views, especially on cloudy or rainy days—the contrast with gleaming glass towers is unreal. Pack a light raincoat just in case, as weather shifts quickly. Quick Tips: Wear comfy shoes, as you’ll be on your feet all day. Plan to visit in the early morning or late evening for magical light and fewer crowds. Always keep an eye out for changing weather! #Shanghai #UrbanAdventure #ModernArchitecture #TheBund #CityViews
